Middle School Orchestra families,
The Middle School Orchestras Annual Music in the Parks event will be held on Friday May 25th and Saturday May 26th, as stated on your events calendar. For those of you who are new to this event (mainly 7th graders and new students), what this event entails is a performance at Oak Harbor High School (about 1/2 hour from Cedar Point) the evening of Friday 5/25, followed by an entire day at Cedar Point on Saturday 5/26. This is an adjudicated performance, meaning there will be judges evaluating, scoring, and rating the performance. There will be an awards ceremony at Cedar Point where the students will find out their score, rating, and placement. This has been a tradition with our middle school orchestras for 8 consecutive years.
The Friday evening performance is mandatory. While almost all students also go to Cedar Point the following day, if there is a reason that your student cannot make it to Cedar Point, please let me know ASAP. Students will be travelling by bus to and from Oak Harbor HS on Friday, and then to and from Cedar Point on Saturday. Please keep in mind that this is Memorial Day weekend.
All fundraising profits will be applied to your students cost for the event. This year’s cost is $60. Invoices will be sent home or mailed shortly.
More information will be sent via email to you or handouts to your students periodically. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Attention High School Orchestra students & Parents:
The Annual Orchestra Banquet will be held on Monday, May 21st @ the Avon High School Commons.
Please turn in your orchestra banquet reservations by May 1st. You can mail them to Mrs. Isabell (address is on invitation) or turn them in to Mr. Martin, form is attached!

Marching Band camp will be held a week earlier next school year, the boosters would like to share those dates with families now so you can get these dates on your calendars. Band camp will be held at Pilgrim Hills starting Monday, July 30, 2012 and continuing through Saturday, August 4th.
More information regarding the marching band program will be shared with 8th grade students and parents this winter. |
